Archaeopteryx Pewter Pendant
This piece is hand crafted from Fine English Pewter and comes with a 16" black cord necklace. The earliest bird fossils belong to genus (group) called Archaeopteryx that lived about 140 million years ago during the Jurassic Period. Archaeopteryx resembled a reptile but was covered in feathers and so is classed as a bird. It was about 2 feet long and ate small animals and insects. Unlike modern birds, Archaeopteryx had teeth, a reptile like tail and three claws on each wing. It is believed that these claws were used to climb trees. The word Archaeopteryx means "Ancient Wing". Imported from England.
