Deinonychus Claw Pewter Pendant

This piece is hand crafted from Fine English Pewter and comes with a 16" black cord necklace. About 225 million years ago a group of reptiles appeared on earth. They had scaly, waterproof skin and young that hatched from eggs. They survived for nearly 150 million years and then vanished from the face of the earth. Some where the size of chickens and others enormous. These were dinosaurs that ate plants (herbivores) and dinosaurs with sharp teeth and claws that ate other dinosaurs (carnivores) Many other reptiles shared the world with the dinosaurs, flying in the air and swimming in the sea. Deinonychus, which means "Terrible Claw", was found in North America from the early Cretaceous period. Its large hooked claws, about 6" long, were used to slash and hold its prey and it was related to the fearsome Velociraptor. Imported from England.
