Ichthyosaurus Pewter Pendant
This piece is hand crafted from Fine English Pewter and comes with a 16" black cord necklace. The sea reptiles evolved from land reptiles that adapted to life in water. All the sea reptiles breathed air and would surface regularly to fill their lungs. Sea reptiles like the Plesiosaurus and turtles hauled themselves onto beaches to lay their eggs. Only the ichthyosaurus gave birth to live young at sea. The Ichthyosaurus was similar in shape to modern dolphins and measured about 6'6" in length. It fed on fish, shell fish and small sea reptiles. One of the largest sea reptiles was the Plesiosaurus that measured about 23' in length. It lived in the sea during the Jurassic period and was a formidable hunter, crushing its prey with its strong jaws and sharp teeth. Imported from England.
