Saber Tooth Cat Pewter Pendant

This piece is hand crafted from Fine English Pewter and comes with a 16" black cord necklace. The saber tooth cat was a carnivorous mammal that ate meat and had enlarged canine teeth (long pointed teeth near the front of themouth). The teeth were shaped like sabers (curved swords) and were about 8" long. They may have used their long canines to stab the necks of their prey. Their diet probably consisted of thick skinned animals including elephants, mastodons and ground sloths. saber Toothed Cats lived about 40 million years ago and became extinct about 10,000 years ago.
