THE FULL STORY:    Long ago in the distant land of Tir Nan Og, Alida, a young unicorn princess, ruled a magical kingdom. The mystical creatures that lived there were all very special, but none as beautiful as the young princess. So beautiful was she that the other creatures were in awe of her. This saddened Alida, because even though she was a princess, she liked to play and have fun too. Then word spread that Alida was going to have a foal. Everyone – from the King of the Faeries to the woodland nymphs – eagerly awaited the new unicorn. Finally, Princess Alida sent word that all were welcome to the enchanted glade to meet her son, Prince Elidor. The creatures quietly filed past the soft mossy bed where Alida stood over her new unicorn foal. The young prince looked like his mother with gold and rose braids in his mane and tail, and shades of silvery blue across his legs. "Elidor will carry on my work one day," Princess Alida told them. "He will be a symbol of purity and a protector of truth." The kingdom rejoiced and the creatures watched as the young Prince Elidor stood on his wobbly legs for the first time and promptly fell down laughing. As his curiosity and personality charmed everyone in the glade, Princess Alida was happy knowing that her precious son would have the love of the kingdom and time to play before assuming his duties a young Prince.
