Perfect in one direction (basal).

COLOR:

Tin-white to a steel gray which can tarnish to darker grays.

CRYSTRAL HABITS:

Pseudocubic rhombohedral crystals. More commonly found massive, botryoidal, lamellar and radiating.

CRYSTAL SYSTEM:

Trigonal, bar 3 2/m.

FIELD INDICATORS:

Density, softness, color, crystal habits, lack of smell and associations.

FRACTURE:

Uneven.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Does not have a garlic odor.

GEOGRAPHY:

Chihuahua, Mexico; Wolfe Co., Quebec, Canada and Kern Co., California, USA.

GROUP:

Arsenic.

HARDNESS:

3 - 3.5.

LUSTER:

Metallic but the tarnish will often dull the luster.

TRANSPARENCY:

Opaque.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY:

6.6 - 6.7+.

STREAK:

Tin-white to gray.
